Where did you go on holiday, Steve?
I went to Chicago for a long weekend to visit a friend.
Chronology
Sorry, folks; I didn't keep a diary on this trip.
What to See
In no particular order:
- Chicago Architecture
Foundation River and Loop Tours: It's kinda neat to go on
a boat tour around the Chicago River and see the architecture. Too
bad it was raining.
- John G. Shedd Aquarium
- The Field Museum
- Blue Man Group: If
you live in a city where the Blue Man Group is playing, or if they
ever come to your city, go see them. It's a lot of fun.
It's performance art, but not the kind that makes normal humans
roll their eyes. There are a few dirty words thrown in, so you
might think twice about bringing kids ... too bad, because it's
a show that kids can really enjoy. Anyway, if you want to know what
the Blue Man Group is about, visit their Web site.
Yes, there's a lot more to see and do in Chicago than
that. And I did more than that. But I didn't get around to
writing up this page until over a year later, and I've forgotten
a number of things.
